The School of Materials Science and Engineering held its annual review and appraisal meeting for the Youth League Committee and Student Union on June 30 in Lecture Hall 326, covering the 2025-2026 academic year. The meeting aimed to take stock of the past year's work, clarify the path forward, reinforce accountability, and push for more standardized and higher quality operations. In attendance were Ke Ma, Deputy Party Secretary of the school, Reziwaguli, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, and Bin Wu, counselor for the class of 2025. More than 50 people took part, including the Student Union presidium, department heads, and all committee staff.

The meeting began with all attending teachers and students singing the Song of the Communist Youth League of China in unison. The rousing and powerful chorus embodied the faith and collective energy of the young members, giving full expression to the spirit of Materials School students who stay close to the Party and League leadership and are determined to press forward with perseverance. This moment officially kicked off the review and appraisal meeting.

At the meeting, Ke Ma, Deputy Party Secretary of the school, delivered a speech and offered guidance, setting out targeted and instructive work requirements and growth expectations for all student leaders and young volunteers. First, they should uphold the principle of integrating knowledge with action and grounding work in practical effort. Service efforts must align closely with the school's overall development and the real needs of faculty and students, and should be carried out with concrete actions that honor the founding mission and service purpose of student organizations. Second, they should strengthen their role as a bridge and link, set an example, and actively align themselves with the Party organization. They should strive to be role models and pacesetters in both academic growth and work performance, and cultivate a clean, upright, and pragmatic atmosphere within League and student affairs. Third, they should anchor their youth with a clear sense of direction and bravely shoulder their responsibilities. They should foster positive values among young people, integrate their personal growth and development into the broader currents of the times, and temper their overall competence through volunteer service and hands-on practice, thereby realizing the value of their youth.

During the report and review session, Jinze Yang, Student Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee, delivered an annual work summary on behalf of the presidium. He systematically reviewed the major tasks, distinctive outcomes, and performance results of the past academic year from three core dimensions: ideological guidance, organizational development, and practical service. He also took a comprehensive look back at the highlights and shortcomings that emerged throughout the work process. Building on the school's broader educational goals, he then laid out the direction and priorities for the next phase of work. Following that, each department presented its own special report, reviewing its work against its specific responsibilities, identifying existing problems and weak links, and detailing corrective measures. These efforts laid a solid foundation for more targeted and effective action going forward.

After the reports, the meeting proceeded to the annual commendation ceremony. The attending faculty members presented the student leaders from the nine departments with annual work certificates of honor and customdesigned commemorative notebooks from the school. This recognized the quiet dedication and hard work of all League and student cadres throughout the academic year. The weighty honor was not only a full affirmation of the student leaders' conscientious performance and their drive to excel, but also a charge and a trust for them to continue deepening their service and boldly taking on the responsibilities of youth.

Looking back on the past academic year, all members of the Materials School Youth League Committee and Student Union worked together with unity and determination, delivering an impressive record of youthful achievement in areas such as ideological strengthening, organizational consolidation, practice based education, and cultural enrichment within the school. Going forward, the school's Youth League Committee will take this review meeting as a new starting point and embark on a new journey, using the insights gained to precisely address weak spots, innovate work approaches, and enhance service quality and effectiveness. Staying focused on its core mission of serving faculty and students, the Committee will continue to guide all young Materials School students to persevere with unwavering effort and strive for excellence, so that the vibrant energy of our "Little Blue Diamond" team may shine through real action, and so that the school's League and student affairs may reach new heights of quality and impact.
